Klay Thompson has always been one of those players who has fallen under the radar at times. Perhaps it’s because of who he plays with. Sometimes that can be a good thing. Teams are so focused on trying to contain the reigning 2 time Finals MVP and the former 2 time regular season MVP that sometimes Klay slips through the cracks. When that happens, he usually does his job to remind you that he is one of the best shooters in the game today.
The same can be said for the Chinese Brand ANTA. Overshadowed by it’s American counterparts like Nike, Adidas, and Under Armour, ANTA is not a brand that should be taken likely. Reviews of Klay Thompson’s previous 3 signature models with ANTA have been positive and the trend seems to continue with the ANTA KT4.
Klay Thompson on the court is by no means ‘flashy’ and rarely draws the kind of attention that his point guard, small forward or power forward garner. He does his job seamlessly within the flow of the game and he does it well. The ANTA KT4 Pro follows suit. The shoe boasts a one piece upper that ANTA calls a ‘high tenacity fabric material.’ It seems to resemble the knitted material used on the upper of the LeBron 15. It also uses a ‘hollow shaped heel TPU design’ for support and lockdown.
There is a TPU ‘Wing’ on the lateral side of the midsole for stability and added support. The cushioning system used is what ANTA calls ‘Flash Foam’ and the outsole is made up of a multi directional traction pattern with a TPU support piece underfoot for torsional support.
Overall, the KT4 has a beautiful sillouhette with smooth lines and very little bells and whistles. This particular all black colorway just adds to it’s beauty. The KT4 Pro is straight to the point, wastes little time, and gets right to work much like Klay Thompson. No word yet on a release date, but we’ll keep you covered as details come underway.
