At the beginning of 2019, the Swoosh made history, releasing the first ever automatic-lacing basketball shoe. Fast forward to nearly a year later, as we sit at the beginning of 2020, the shoe looks to get a sequel—with a potential first look at the Nike Adapt BB 2
The original Nike Adapt BB was a solid all-around performance basketball shoe, with good cushion, support, and a great fit, due to the Adapt technology’s customization. Now we have your first look at the potential Nike Adapt BB 2, and it looks to expand upon its predecessor with even more new and exciting features.
The Nike Adapt BB 2 looks to feature a new and improved silhouette in comparison to its predecessor. The tooling appears to utilize a full-length foam midsole, but the forefoot is highlighted in Red, which could hint a forefoot Zoom Air bag to make its debut with this shoe. The original Adapt BB featured full length Cushlon foam with no Zoom Air, so this would be a major upgrade. The build uses very similar materials to its predecessor. A neoprene underlay, is overlaid by a thin layer of open-air, ventilated, textile mesh, while a one-piece bootie construction appears to be intact. Continuing, there is also a large glossy Black heel TPU heel counter. Completing the shoe is Nike’s automatic lacing Adapt BB technology, with two buttons at the midfoot for fit and lockdown customization.
