Earlier in March of this year, Stephen Curry and UA Basketball released the Under Armour Curry 5, just a short six months after the initial release of the Curry 4. The UA Curry 5 brought nothing but disappointment and a lack of preparation on UA’s end for the Curry line. Many had blistering and just the whole shoe was lackluster. Cushioning and consistent signature releases seem to be a huge complication as Under Armour develops and debuts signature sneakers for NBA Super Star Stephen Curry.
Just a short six months later, here is an Exclusive Look at Stephen Curry’s sixth signature shoe with UA Basketball, the Under Armour Curry 6. Bearing the initials of the two-time MVP, five time time All Star, and three point specialist, Stephen Curry, the UA Curry 6 has officially surfaced around the web.
The newest Under Armour Curry Model suggests Under Armour is once again taking a radical design approach, and doesn’t seem to build off and refine the issues that its predecessor models presented. The new model features a simple translucent sole, as shown in this initial release colorway, while riding atop a full-length HOVR cushioned midsole; Under Armour’s newest and greatest foam they have to offer. A dual tone knitted speed form upper takes up most of the back paneling, while a reinforced textile makes up the forefoot. In addition, a new innovative lace system looks to feature flywire inspired cables, operating from the eyelets to the rubberized heel cup.
Stephen Curry has been exclusively featured on the cover of SLAM Magazine, paying homage to ‘The Bay Area’ in Oakland, where he and the Warriors Franchise seem to win championships each year. It’s evident in the pictures he is wearing what many speculate to be the initial release colorway of the UA Curry 6. No word on release date quite yet, but Under Armour President Patrick Frisk indicated in a radio interview the kicks would debut late into 2018. So now, it’s just the waiting game to see what happens. Whatever does happen, know we’ll keep you covered at the site as details come underway. Drop your thoughts on the Curry 6 down below.
