First Impressions Of The adidas Dame 5

You know I had to cop a pair of the Dame 5, especially after that 50 piece and the fact that adidas offered $50 of all Dame 5 colorways in honor of his 50 point night, which was finished off with an insane series winner. Lillard, hats off to you for playing well against a team that was known well for their defense.

Besides Dame Time and his amazing performance, we gotta get into what you all are tuning in for, the Dame 5 and I had to get it in the ‘People’s Champ’ colorway. As a basketball and boxing fan (newbie boxer myself), this colorway was the obvious choice when I knew I was getting that $50 off.

Starting off with the materials, not anything really premium just plain and simple textile. The textile is very stiff at first, especially around the forefoot area for me, only played in them once and I expect that area to loosen up slightly alongside the materials to soften up. Upon first holding these in hand, I noticed how stiff the upper felt. The quarter panel to the heel is suede and honestly I don’t expect this part to loosen up much, but to me I like that because of the support it’ll offer and the fact that the shoe will keep it’s structure for the most part.

The cushioning being used is Bounce and at first it’s kind of firm and just like the textile, I expect the cushion to hopefully soften up and have a slight give to it. Upon first wearing them, I liked the instant response and am looking forward to putting in hours with the Bounce setup.

The outsole is a herringbone tread pattern that uses a dual tone color scheme, most of the outsole is a slightly translucent grey with the medial forefoot portion using red and black camo to get the job done. Don’t have much to say, so far I like the traction pattern being used and of course it’s only a matter of grinding out on the courts to see how these will perform. Be on the lookout for the Hoops Analysis to come out on these!
