The Jordan Defy SP has surfaced, Jordan Brand’s newest basketball shoe that will likely be released in their performance basketball line-up, and this is your First Look.
The new sneakers look to arrive with the same tooling as the Jordan Jumpman Zero Gravity, while sporting a high-cut collar and a different build in materials. This shoe looks to come equipped with the same full-length Phylon midsole. However, multiple areas of the foam can be seen caged by a midfoot plate, and the sole wraps up to the whole entire heel, likely creating a bulky feel on foot, negatively affecting heel to toe transition, which I am not a fan of. Forefoot zoom additionally arrives with this model, while an upper made of primarily textile mesh is evident, with additional overlays of synthetics on the eyestay and mudguard area. Finishing off the shoe is an inner one-piece bootie construction, and a buckle-esque strap lockdown system. The only bright point for this shoe looks to be the materials, lockdown, and traction, while everything else just seems pretty plain and outdated to be quite honest.
Expect these kicks to arrive during the Spring/Summer 2019, and keep it locked here as to when the exact release date is for these, as you’ll likely see it here first. Drop your thoughts on these in the comments below.
