Jordan Brand continues to pump out original color ways of the Jordan 1’s this year, and these next two releases may be the best yet. Both silhouettes have the potential to be instant classics as well as a must cop for those die hard MJ fans out there.
The first of two new Jordan 1 color ways called the “Rookie of the Year” combines a white leather upper, with suede tan overlays and black accents throughout the sneaker. Inspired by Michael Jordans wardrobe during his 1984-85 NBA season which saw Jordan average 28.2 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 5.9 apg, and 2.4 spg, accoloades cementing him as the seasons rookie of the year. Hidden in the sneakers ankle collar are two messages, one a short stat recap for Jordans season which reads, “1984-85, R.O.Y., 2313 Points, 28.2 PPG.” The second message gives a little insight into the kind of teammate Jordan was and read, “This award is nice, but i just feel it is very important for each individual to go out and contribute to his team” -MJ. This sneaker does a great job paying homeage to Jordans outsanding rookie season, the beginning of the G.O.A.T.’s legacy in the NBA, with its mix of premium materials, a unique color way and a strong message, these sneakers are definitely a must have for the true die hard Jordan fans out there.
