Paul George has been having himself a season, averaging 27 points per game, 8 rebounds, 4 assists, while leading the Oklahoma City Thunder to a promising playoff berth and rising atop the NBA’s highly competitive Western Conference Standings. Aside from his phenomenal play on the court, he also has his third signature performance basketball shoe with Nike Basketball releasing this month; the Nike PG 3. After quite a wait, we give you an official First Look at the Nike PG 3 x NASA release, which will be the first initial colorway to launch of PG’s third signature sneaker.
We first reported upon the the Nike PG 3 first leak last month in grainy, speculated images. Now that we have a better look at the sneakers, they definitely seem much more promising performance wise than the first leaks.
The kicks keep the same low-cut design its predecessors came with, and sports an indistinguishable look with the Nike PG 2. A black Nike swoosh is branded on the lateral side of the midsole, while a sized down flipped swoosh is featured on the medial side. Finishing touches include an embroidered NASA logo on the heel tab, United States flag on the right tongue, PG logo on the left tongue, and a quote around the midsole.
The sneakers feature a very similar outsole to the Jordan “WHY NOT?” ZER0.2, literal circles all on the outsole, which should provide for great multi-directional coverage. The Nike PG 3 also rides a top a full-length phylon midsole, with the same exact forefoot zoom air bag as its predecessor, 11 mm thick. Finishing it off is a premium mesh upper, which also sports a similar look to the Nike PG 2, while featuring an inner bootie for improved fit.
The Nike PG 3 x NASA collaboration drops Saturday, January 19th for $110. The kicks look to refine everything from its predecessor, and hopefully meet the expectations of PG13 on court. Do you dig the Nike PG 3? Grab a First Look down below, and stay tuned as more colorways surface.
