For the third and final installment of the Air Jordan ‘Graduation Pack”‘ Jordan Brand continues to bring the heat with an Air Jordan 13, designed to honor Carmelo Anthony and his high school basketball career at Oak Hill Academy.
Beginning his career at Towson Catholic High School Carmelo started raising eyebrows his sophmore season averaging 23 ppg and 10 rpg and began recieving offers from D1 Schools all over the country. After commiting to Syracuse before entering his senior year in high school, Anthony transferred to Oak Hill Academy, to help him focus on his school work and more importantly basketball. At Oak Hill Carmelo would average 22 ppg, 8 rpg, and 4 apg. The team would go on to win multiple big tournements most notably the Nike Academy National Invitational, where Carmelo would first face off against Lebron James and not only lead his team to a win vs Lebron’s team but also knock off the number one seeded team in the final. From there Melo would become one of the top ranked players in the country, and the rest is history.
The Air Jordan 13 designed for Melo, takes inspiration in the color way from the Oak Hill Academy team jerseys. Featuring a predominently black upper that blends premium materials of suede on the side panels and tumbled leather on the tongue and toe cap, the sneaker also boasts a university gold, sueded heel and midsole accented with black along the sole. Finally a red Jumpman Logo on the tongue finishes off the design. Look for these to release September 15th and retail for $190.
