ESPN’s Nick DePaula broke the news earlier that Kanye West’s newest sneaker, the unnamed Adidas YZY Basketball Sneaker is going to have a problem making its way onto NBA courts this upcoming season Kanye has planned to release his Yeezy Basketball sneaker during the upcoming NBA season, and have Adidas athletes wearing them, but this new information may cause that to change. The issue in question with the upcoming Yeezy Basketball sneakers is the 3M reflective panel on the sneakers heel.

This “distracting” feature of the sneaker goes against one of the few regulations left in place regarding players sneakers.  In fact just this year the league has loosened up the rules and allowed for players to now wear any color sneaker they would like.  Still any shiny, chrome or distractive designs are not permitted.  While Adidas and Yeezy are yet to submit there sneakers to the NBA committee and have yet to receive a true ban from the league, we do know that Yeezy’s new Basketball Sneaker with the 3M panel will not make the cut.

Fortunately for us, there are multiple colorways in the works for the upcoming sneaker; a few of which have already been leaked.  Keep an eye out for NBA players rocking these on court as we expect a release sometime in the upcoming NBA season.  Stay tuned to One on One Testers and The Sneaker Bulletin for more news and updates and check out some of the other Yeezy colorways that have been spotted below.
