As they always do, the good folks over at Fast Pass have sacrificed another pair of kicks so that we can know the guys of some of the best basketball performers. This time around, the KD 12 is being deconstructed so let’s see what KD’s latest signature shoe is packing.
A longitudinal cut reveals the materials being used as well as the backing of the material. Not a whole lot going on with the upper, usually with these deconstructions a lot of the action occurs in the midsole as that is where we as consumers get to see the cushioning setup being used.
The midsole is Nike’s Zoom strobel which puts the players foot in direct contact with the full length Zoom being used. This really eliminates the need for break in time and let’s the cushion be felt straight out of the box. The KD 12 also uses Phylon and has a heel hex Zoom pod, you can see the measurements for all the different Zoom units below. That’s the KD 12 for you, a cool blend of simplicity and tech.
