KD, Durantula, Snake, whatever you want to call Kevin Durant; bash him for leaving his team that blew a 3-1 lead to the Golden State Warriors in the 2016 Western Conference Finals, but you still have to respect him for his generational talent on the hardwood, and his efforts for youth, education, and civil prosperity off the court.
KD’s twelfth signature shoe has finally released, and the Nike KD 12 ‘University Red’ is the second colorway that is set to make a general release. First debuted on the court by Durant during the playoffs, we now have official release details for this ravishing colorway.
To be frank, I hated these shoes and thought they were gimmicks from initial images. But now with this colorway, I am certainly easing up on them. The University Red KD 12s sports a pretty simple aesthetic. A translucent outsole, white speckled midsole, and a semi-translucent University Red upper make up the shoe, while black laces and sockliner finish off the colorway. I love Bred flavors, so these got me.
Look out for the Nike KD 12 ‘University Red’ to makes its ay to retailers stateside in just a couple weeks for $150. While we wait, catch Durantula and the Golden State Warriors battle the Los Angeles Clippers in the 2018-19 NBA Playoffs. Coming back from a 31 point deficit is certainly a historic feat, and the Clippers were the first team to do it in the playoffs, so this should be a series to really watch.
Update: More detailed images have surfaced of this new Nike KD 12 colorway.
