The Nike Kobe 4 is one of the godfather performance models that have ever released into the basketball footwear world. Now, they will be re-releasing, but this time in the Protro form. The Kobe 1 originally started the Protro line, or performance retro, which means their old school models, that you can hoop in for performance basketball. The Kobe 1 received upgraded cushioning, materials, and was well suited for daily performance basketball. Will the Kobe 4 get the same treatment? Lets find out.
According to many sources, the Kobe 4 Protro will release in February of 2019 in ‘White/Orion Blue/Varsity Purple’. Although this is not yet confirmed, that color scheme is highly eyeing a ‘Draft Day’ protro release. You heard that right, one of the godfather performance basketball models will re-release this coming year in Kobe’s ‘Draft Day’ Hornets inspired colorways. The original Kobe 1 Protro released in February of 2018, so it seems like Nike is following along with the newest Kobe 4 release.
We’ll leave One on One Nation with that. The original Kobe 4 featured a heel Nike Zoom bag, as well as Lunarlon foam in the forefoot, as well as a cheap, synthetic-leather looking upper. Lets hope Nike upgrades everything to be suitable for modern day performance. Lock in to The Sneaker Bulletin for more on these.
